🎒 Photography Gear I Personally Use & Recommend

Browse the cameras, lenses, accessories, and travel gear I personally use and recommend.

Sony Alpha 7C Full-Frame Mirrorless Camera - Silver (ILCE7C/S)

✅ Sony Alpha 7C Full-Frame Mirrorless Camera

My mirrorless camera of choice – small and lightweight for travel, good enough for my budget and high quality!

Sony - FE 24-105mm F4 G OSS Standard Zoom Lens (SEL24105G/2)

Sony – FE 24-105mm F4 G OSS Standard Zoom Lens

This is the lens of choice for me for the Sony Alpha Mirrorless, because a standard zoom is the best if you’re going to have just one, or as a staple lens!

Canon EOS 6D Mark II

✅ Canon 6D (DSLR)

This is the camera I currently own and use. It has wifi connectivity, is a full-frame camera and does an overall fabulous job.

Canon EF 16-35mm f/4L is USM Lens - 9518B002, Black

Canon EF 16-35mm Wide-Angle Zoom Lens

This is my current lens, which I chose because I absolutely love taking wide-angle photos, but I also don’t want to sacrifice zoom capability. This would be great to add to a set with a standard zoom lens, too.

Tip: Adorama is one of my favorite places to find used cameras and gear for less!

GoPro HERO10 Black Accessory Bundle - Includes HERO10 Camera, Shorty (Mini Extension Pole + Grip), Magnetic Swivel Clip, Rechargeable Batteries (2 Total), and Camera Case

✅ GoPro HERO10 Black Accessory Bundle

I’ve been using this on my latest trip & it’s so perfect – great for water activities as well as easy video and photos, not as cumbersome as my camera with better quality than my iPhone! The videos are SO smooth!

GoPro Protective Housing (HERO11 Black/HERO10 Black/HERO9 Black) - Official GoPro Accessory

Waterproof Housing for GoPro

This Waterproof Housing for GoPro is needed for deep-water adventures of over 10m, aka scuba diving. Find the housing that fits your specific GoPro model.

Over-Under Water Dome (this one works with GoPro)

This is great for capturing the perfect half-over, half-under shots, plus it’s a secure underwater housing option for GoPros for diving, snorkeling, surfing and more!

✅ DJI Mini 4 Pro Drone

This drone is one of the best for travel because it doesn’t weigh as much as others and it can fold to fit in a camera bag.

Fujifilm instax Mini 9 Instant Camera (Ice Blue) with Film Twin Pack Bundle (2 Items)

✅ Fujifilm instax Mini 9 Instant Camera

The Fujifilm instax Mini 9 Instant Camera with Film Twin Pack Bundle is the best budget instant camera for travel (it’s small so it’s easy to pack)! The film is also cheaper.

4-In-1 Travel Tripod

4-In-One Travel Tripod

This amazing tripod works with both cameras and smartphones, plus doubles as a selfie stick, monopod and as trekking poles! It’s made with durable and lightweight (2.8 lbs.) aluminum alloy, and it’s super affordable.

Peak Design Capture Camera Clip V3 (With Plate)

✅ Peak Design Hiking Camera Clip

This is my favorite way for carrying a camera while hiking & backpacking (it’s better than a traditional strap)!

✅ Filters

Filters, including UV & Circular Polarizers, help you get better photos, especially of water reflections and the bottom of clear water. Just make sure to get the right size to fit your lens!

Camera Remote Shutter Release Wireless

Remote Shutter (this one works with Canon cameras)

A remote shutter helps you take long-exposure photos at night and sunrise/sunset.

SanDisk Extreme Pro Memory Card (Regular Size SD Card)

Memory Card (for DSLR/Mirrorless Cameras)

SanDisk Extreme Pro memory cards are a must. They prevent many issues with photography and video that happen with lower quality memory cards.

SmartQ C368 USB 3.0 SD Card Reader, Plug N Play, Apple and Windows Compatible, Powered by USB, Supports CF/SD/SDHC/SCXC/MMC/MMC Micro, etc.

Memory Card Reader

A memory card reader is necessary when your camera doesn’t transfer photos without it, and for when you choose to transfer them this way – a lot of newer computers don’t have USB ports or memory card readers (mine doesn’t and I use one of these)!

Memory Card Travel & Storage Box

Memory Card Travel & Storage Box

This Memory Card Carrying Box is aluminum and shock resistant, and has 8 spots for memory cards (including microSD cards)!

✅ Portable External Hard Drive

Backing up your photos is ULTRA important. The SANDISK 1TB Extreme Portable SSD is an excellent one for travel and durability, and they also have ones with even more storage space.

✅ Portable Charger/Power Bank

🔋 Anker 20,000mAh Power Bank
Whether I’m taking hundreds of photos, filming videos, or editing on the go, a portable charger is one of my travel essentials. This Anker power bank is compact enough to fit in my camera bag, charges quickly, and has enough capacity to keep my phone and other USB-C devices powered through long days of exploring.

🧲 Anker Qi2 10,000mAh Magnetic Power Bank

If you have a MagSafe-compatible iPhone, this power bank is one of the most convenient travel accessories you can pack. It snaps onto the back of your phone for cable-free charging, making it easy to keep taking photos and videos throughout the day without worrying about your battery.

BEASTEK Waterproof iPhone Case

BEASTEK Waterproof iPhone Case

I ordered this after seeing it in action in Jordan, and asked for the info – so it definitely works well!

Remote shutter (2-pack) for smartphones

Remote shutter (2-pack) for smartphones

This is a great option for a remote shutter to use with your smartphone so you can take pictures of yourself from a distance, as well as nighttime photos!

DSLR Waterproof Camera Insert Case

My Waterproof Camera Case Insert Bag

My new obsession: it’s water-resistant, and it fits into any backpack or bag! I use this to switch between my carry-on backpack and day pack.

👩‍💻 Edit Your Photos

Whether you’re editing travel photos on your computer or making quick adjustments on the go, these are the programs I recommend for everything from basic touch-ups to professional-quality editing.

  • Adobe Lightroom – My go-to program for organizing and editing nearly all of my travel photography.
  • Adobe Photoshop – Perfect for more advanced edits, composites, and detailed retouching.
  • Canva – Great for creating Pinterest graphics, blog images, social media posts, and other travel content.
  • Luminar Neo – An excellent option for beginners and intermediate photographers, with powerful AI tools for removing backgrounds, enhancing skies, and making quick edits. It also works as a plugin for Lightroom and Photoshop. Use code MUKI10 to save 10%.
