Consider your budget and your experience level, as well as if you’re taking photos professionally or not. If you’re a beginner-intermediate, or as a backup these are excellent options – and, talent and a good eye go a long way – you really can do a lot with a camera if you’re a good photographer.

Look to see if a lens kit comes with the camera, because some of these do. You’ll want a standard lens for just any photo, something like a 50 mm that doesn’t zoom much, or a 18-135, which is more versatile because it has more zoom capability.
