Here is a list of what I use, and more photography essentials depending on your needs and photography style, from cameras to accessories!
✅ Sony Alpha 7C Full-Frame Mirrorless Camera
My mirrorless camera of choice – small and lightweight for travel, good enough for my budget and high quality!
✅ Sony – FE 24-105mm F4 G OSS Standard Zoom Lens
This is the lens of choice for me for the Sony Alpha Mirrorless, because a standard zoom is the best if you’re going to have just one, or as a staple lens!
✅ Canon 6D (DSLR)
This is the camera I currently own and use. It has wifi connectivity, is a full-frame camera and does an overall fabulous job.
✅ Canon EF 16-35mm Wide-Angle Zoom Lens
This is my current lens, which I chose because I absolutely love taking wide-angle photos, but I also don’t want to sacrifice zoom capability. This would be great to add to a set with a standard zoom lens, too.
Tip: Adorama is one of my favorite places to find used cameras and gear for less!
✅ GoPro HERO10 Black Accessory Bundle
I’ve been using this on my latest trip & it’s so perfect – great for water activities as well as easy video and photos, not as cumbersome as my camera with better quality than my iPhone! The videos are SO smooth!

I wasn’t wanting to keep spending money, and I found this. After using it multiple times snorkeling in French Polynesia, I can say it’s definitely high-quality!
✅ DJI Mini 4 Pro Drone
This drone is one of the best for travel because it doesn’t weigh as much as others and it can fold to fit in a camera bag.
✅ Fujifilm instax Mini 9 Instant Camera
The Fujifilm instax Mini 9 Instant Camera with Film Twin Pack Bundle is the best budget instant camera for travel (it’s small so it’s easy to pack)! The film is also cheaper.

A memory card reader is necessary when your camera doesn’t transfer photos without it, and for when you choose to transfer them this way – a lot of newer computers don’t have USB ports or memory card readers (mine doesn’t and I use one of these)!

Backing up your photos is ULTRA important! Seagate is one of the best brands for these (and what I use), and they hold up well – plus, this one is 2TB so it’ll last awhile!
✅ Over-Under Water Dome (this one works with GoPro)
This is great for capturing the perfect half-over, half-under shots, plus it’s a secure underwater housing option for GoPros for diving, snorkeling, surfing and more!
