4. Pike Place Market
If you’re a Starbucks fan or if you’ve ever worked there, you know that Pike Place coffee is named after this Seattle market, where the original Starbucks is located.
Pike Place Market has been around since 1907. Located in downtown Seattle, it spans 9 acres and has been continuously used as a market (making it one of the oldest in the US). It’s full of restaurants, small businesses and also has events.
5. Best Photography Spots In Seattle: Space Needle
The Seattle Space Needle is more than a local icon – it’s recognized worldwide, which makes it one of the best photography spots in Seattle! It was built in 1962 for the World’s Fair which had a space theme, and is one of the most photographed icons in the world.
You can go to the top and get 360-degree Seattle skyline views with floor-to-ceiling glass, and even sip a cocktail at the Loupe Lounge, while peering down from the glass floors.
6. Best Photography Spots In Seattle: Alki Beach
Another one of the best photography spots in Seattle is Alki Beach, which is located on Puget Sound in West Seattle. Alki Beach Park is basically a long strip of beach area that runs along Elliot Bay and is popular for beachgoers as well as rollerbladers, people on bikes and more.
There are also a lot of great restaurants, and a lighthouse you can tour.
Alki Beach is around 25 minutes drive from downtown Seattle, and you can take the water taxi.

8. Post Alley Gum Wall
Post Alley is one of the oldest places in Seattle, a street that includes the famous gum wall (which is exactly what it sounds like).
The Gum Wall is located near Pike Street and under Pike Place Market. It’s a brick wall covered in used gum since the 1990s, and it’s one of the most instagrammable spots in Seattle.
9. Seattle Great Wheel
The Seattle Great Wheel is a ferris wheel at Pier 57 on Elliott Bay that was opened in 2012. You can go on rides, but there’s more to check out besides that, too! There are 500,000 LED lights and you can see light shows on Fridays through Sundays, and sometimes for holidays, game days and other special occasions.
You can also go on a boat tour or on the “Wings Over Washington” ride, eat at the nearby restaurants and even get photobooth photos!

10. Suzallo & Allen Libraries (especially the Harry Potter Room)
The Suzallo & Allen Libraries are University of Washington’s central library, and it was founded in 1915 to the “soul of the university.” The architecture in in Collegiate Gothic Style and was created by Seattle architects, and opened in 1926.
There are guided tours so you can explore and hear the history as you take photos!

The Seattle neighborhood of Belltown is the most densely populated and walkable one in the city, and is close to Downtown and Pike Place Market, located on the waterfront. There are many shops, trendy restaurants and cafes here, as well as nightlife and art galleries.

Located in the Fremont neighborhood, Gas Works Park is another one of the best photography spots in Seattle for skyline pictures, but also much more.

19. Discovery Park
Discovery Park is the largest park in Seattle, with 534 acres of nature to enjoy! Indigenous Duwamish and other Coast Salish peoples have lived in Seattle since ancient times, and still do, and West Point was originally called PKa’dz Eltue, which translates to “thrust far out.”
The 1855 Treaty of Point Elliot came with these people being forced out of the area into reservations. There was an archaeological dig in 1992 where artifacts were found of tool kits and more.

Jim Ellis Freeway Park is the largest downtown public park in Seattle, built over a freeway (hence the name) as a bridge between downtown and the First Hill neighborhood. It was designed in modernist style and was a trailblazer in land-use typology in the US.

25. Kubota Garden
Kubota Garden is a 20 acre garden located in South Seattle that uses Japanese garden styles with plants from the Northwestern US. It was designed by landscaper Fujitara Kubota, who was the first to landscape North American plants using Japanese design.

Waterfall Garden Park is located in Pioneer Square in Seattle. It was started in the neighborhood where the UPS started, and where it operated exclusively until the 1930s and Pioneer Square was started in the area. The garden supposedly exists where UPS used to be, and it’s relatively small and easy to miss (but you shouldn’t skip it)!

28. Best Photography Spots In Seattle: Seacrest Park
Seacrest Park includes the boathouse and pier, located on Harbor Avenue. It’s popular with scuba divers.
You can take the water taxi from Elliot Bay.

29. Dr. Jose Rizal Park
Dr. Jose Rizal was a well-known intellectual and activist from the Philippines, and this Seattle park is named after him and has a sculpture of him.

30. Pier 62 Waterfront Park

You can purchase tickets to the Smith Tower Observatory for 360-degree skyline views, and/or go to the rooftop restaurant and bar. Sunset is the perfect time to get amazing photos!

The Seattle Central Library is a great photo spot for the rooftop views of the skyline – plus, you can get photos of the outside architecture and indoors of the books.

34. Bainbridge Island and ferry
Bainbridge Island is a suburb of Seattle accessible by ferry (a 35-minute ride) and State Route 305. The island used to be home to the Suquamish people, and later home to the first Japanese immigrants who were sent to internment camps during WWII.
Today the island is full of parks, activities and more things to do, including events, museums, a host of wineries, vineyards and breweries, and of course cafes and restaurants.

Chihuly Garden and Glass is a museum that houses the incredibly unique fine artworks of Dale Chihuly, a master of glass blowing. His works have been shown around the world in places like Jerusalem and London. The museum includes multiple galleries, a garden, a glasshouse and theater.
37. Best Photography Spots In Seattle: Starbucks Reserve
If you’ve never been to a Starbucks Reserve, you definitely need to see this one – and, even if you have been to one, it’s worth going to this one in the home town of the original Starbucks. This one is nine blocks away from Pike Place Market. You can book a tour of the roastery, or just explore yourself as you sip from drinks on the unique menu and photograph the interior.
38. Oddfellows Cafe & Bar
Open 24/7, Oddfellows serves French and Italian-inspired food and drinks, as well as coffee. The beautiful indoor space is worth taking photos of!
39. Seattle Aquarium
On a rainy day, head to the Seattle Aquarium at Pier 59 of Elliott Bay to keep your camera dry while taking photos. There are many exhibits to check out, and you can head outside for more photos as well.
40. Museum of Pop Culture (MoPop)
MoPop is a great option for an interesting place to get some great indoor photos in Seattle. Check out pop culture exhibits like Ruth Carter’s costume design, movie screenings, a hip-hop exhibit, science fiction exhibit, and many, many more. The exterior of the building has amazing architecture to photograph as well!
41. Best Photography Spots In Seattle: King Street Station
This Amtrak station (which you can find on Jackson Street) is a popular spot in Seattle for photoshoots! It’s a historic building that has undergone restoration, and the city is working towards making it a cultural hub.
Inside, there’s a waiting room with plaster ceilings and columns, plus chandeliers made of bronze, wall sconces and mosaic flooring.
The exterior is brick and granite and has a clock tower, so you can also get some great photos outside. The ground floor is granite, and the 2nd-3rd floors and clock tower have brick and terra cotta designs to make any photo more interesting.
42. Old Rainier Brewery
Old Rainier Brewery is another popular photoshoot spot in Seattle. It’s a historical landmark building that has been re-imagined for the present day as a space for apartments, offices and businesses. It has a colorful exterior with an industrial look.
Even though the beer is no longer brewed in Seattle, the location and beer have been featured in movies, and you can still go inside and get a tour and photos in the current businesses on a rainy day!
