My first trip to Egypt included a retreat/tour, and exploring on my own. I felt like I got to see the sites, as well as getting to know the people, the history and vibes of modern-day life in Cairo! I spent my first night with a view of the pyramids before meeting my tour group, then after the tour I headed to a hostel in Cairo for a week.
Seeing the pyramids and Sphinx, amazing hieroglyphics at the Valley of the Kings, awe-inspiring Temples that are literally larger than life, and floating on the Nile River were an absolute dream for me (especially with my archaeology background!
